Located in Mitte, Berlin, Gogogi was founded in 2014 by three young artists from Seoul, Korea with only one thing in mind to provide the true authentic taste and culture of modern Korea.

The main chef Jong-Hwan Kim, has completed an extensive course at the Korean Food Institute in preparation for this venture. His lively right hand and sous-chef, Mana Kim, has learned the ancient art of Kimchi production from two renowned masters of their trade. Furthermore, the culinary team sought out only the best traditional restaurants in Korea for first-hand research and underwent countless trial and errors to refine Gogogi's unique recipes.

The restaurant offers its customers authentic Korean food from modern-day Seoul. All dishes reflect the traditional sense of contemporary Korean restaurants, paying careful attention to cultural and visual details.

The interior design concept is based on a reinterpretation of the traditional Korean home interior. It naturally fuses Korean vintage furniture and materials into a European space.

Many objects from a torn down traditional Korean house “Hanok” from the 60s and an Elementary school from the 70s were shipped in to compose the space. The key element of Gogogi's extraordinary interior design is the careful selection of authentic objects that are reused to create a unique atmosphere and provide a cozy dining experience.
